Welcome to the FrameCal site, home of the
Perl based World Wide Web Calendar script. This script started
as Selena Sol's Groupware Calendar 3.0, and grew from there. Since the script has changed so
drastically from the original, I set up this site to support it, not only with a central location to download
the modified script, but to also provide technical support, and collect and discuss user feedback for possible
future modifications.FrameCal allows you to maintain multiple calendars
using one perl script. Access restrictions can be implemented, and a multitude of formatting options are available to
customize the look of the calendar to your individual sites. For details, go to the features and functionality page. In
addition, detailed instructions are available for installation of the script, and, of course, there is always the
user support bulletin board, where you can post questions, and discuss various issues with the scripts.
This script is a work in progress. While the script currently works, and works very well, there are
other functions that are in the works, and of course, you can post your desired changes to the feature requests bulletin board. If
you would like to be informed of updates to FrameCal, be sure to subscribe to our mailing list at the bottom of this page.
For those of you who have used Selena Sol's calendar in the past, please note that the event and user databases have been significantly modified in this implementation.
If you are considering using this version, you will have to start your events database over, but you can salvage your user database by
converting it from two fields for the user's names to one field, by replacing the "|"separating them with a space.
For those of you who may be
new to Perl, and want to find out what is going on in this script, we have
a few suggestions on books that you may want to check out in our
bookstore.
